As co-chair of the Information Assurance Collaboration Group (IACG), I have pleasure in announcing the latest update of the UK IA Community Map.
The UK Information Assurance Community Map is an annual survey of all groups actively engaged on Information Assurance work in the UK.
The map attempts to list all organisations actively involved in the UK IA Community, and is segmented in terms of:
- Trade Associations & Industry Groups
- Government
- Professional Bodies
- Academic & Research Bodies
- Government / Industry Groups
- International Forums
- Regulatory Bodies
- Other
The mapping exercise has been undertaken by the IACG since 2008, making it the most enduring and accurate survey of its kind. The outputs are an annually published map of the community, hosted on the CESG website. A supporting contacts database is available on request to IACG members. Proposed updates to the map should be emailed to the IACG.
It is a deliberate decision to stick with the term Information Assurance and the more trendy Cyber Security – as changing the name would foster non-productive discussion about the differences between the terms and the scope of the map!
